Was wondering if..
Hello,
I was wondering if its still do-able to play through prophecies, factions and nightfall. And with that I mean do the missions and quests in groups of players rather then with henchman. I've been out it for to long and I dont feel like playing again on my own, with henchman. Im 100% PvE orientated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's possible to find pugs for every mission (Harder for some than others), but I'd recommend going with a full guild group or a group of friends rather than random people.

yeah still possible, also guildies and friends could always help with the missions with not many pugs at outpost.
btw PuGs are just as bad as before.

It's possible, it's not impossible, but the chance of being able to get into a group with ease for some places are "impossible" compared to other ones.
Just remember Tihark Orchard in Nightfall is a solo mission.

As in, before what? PUGs actually were good at one time. I got Protectors on six of my characters in Prophecies and Factions simply using PUGs. By choice. Because it was fun. The randomness and the social aspects were fun. Didnt really have much trouble with it. Sure, a full guild group was always better, but at one time PUGs were fine. There was the occasional bad group, but it wasnt so common in my experience, but I didnt join randomly and took notice to groups that were recruiting with some purpose. I wouldnt dream of going only with PUGs now, much as I miss that part of the game.
To the OP: no. No it is not possible. Take my word for it, as someone who used to PUG a lot. You'd be far better served to find a guild and do it with them. That or some combination of friends and the occasional random player, because you cannot fill a full group in some areas anymore, and most of the more experienced players dont join PUGs anymore even if they had the option.

It's possible, but some of those far west Tyrian missions are probably not as populated as you would like them to be.

Allright, then it brings me to this: Are there still guilds doing prophecies, factions missions? To me it sounds most obvious that most guilds moved on to eyes of the north / nightfall..

Good Guilds/Alliances will do anything and everything. (cept certain few things)
Just have to catch some people at the right time to do some things.

It is just as possible as using fitting thread titles.
And on a serious note: Yes it is possible but as said...some areas might be very hard. I can't imagine an 8-men pug in the Tyrian Jungle nowadays thanks to Droks or Cay running. I do remember that the area was actually pretty crowded when I first bought the game since condition removal was "a hard thing to do" and a lot of people really needed help there.

Yes, there are. Any of the largest alliances have players spread across campaigns as not all players started at the same time and/or bought all the campaigns at the same time...besides, in our alliance, there are many players that have completed it all, are bored and enjoy going back to/helping with prior missions and quests to break up the monotony.

Just sit at a post and wait for someone to pick you up or join a group. Pugs can be very fun or very frustrating and often they come simultaneously.
Its kinda one of those "I want an omelet but I don't wanna break any eggs" ordeal.

Yes there are. You'd want to get into a decent PvE-only guild, active with 50+ members ideally. Even then, it might take a bit to get a full guild team put together for a certain mission. Sometimes I had all I could do to get three to four of us together for certain things and then we rounded out with henchmen and we did just fine. Other times we easily had a full team. Really depends on what the activity is.
As for PUGs, well, they're a little Quixotic in some regards. Especially nowadays. Not many experienced players go with them anymore, sadly, so the experience may be mixed at best. My advice is seek out a decent PvE guild and then go seeking PUGs if you wish to try them, pulling in some guild members and/or friends to round out a group in a zone where you cant pull together a PUG or are not having luck with them. There is something to be said about playing in all-human teams, despite all the "heroes > PUGs" crap you'll read. I'd even go join some if I was still playing.
Good luck and have fun!

In normal mode you won't have any problems finding people to do just about anything with.
For hard mode you may run into problems for some missions.

I'd advice you start with Prophecies, then Nightfall and Factions. Would be easier to start.
